On July 21, 2010, President Barack Obama signed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Protection Act, which, in part, permanently raises the current standard maximum insurance amount to $250,000. The FDIC insurance coverage applies per depositor, per insured depository institution for each account ownership category.

Transaction Account Guarantee Program Notice
Beginning January 1, 2010, Bank 1440 will no longer participate in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program.
Thus, after December 31, 2009, funds held in non-interest-bearing transaction accounts will no longer be guaranteed in full under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program, but will be insured up to $250,000 under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
